MEET CHEF DUAN SAMUELS
Chef Duan Samuels was born and raised in New Amsterdam, Guyana, South America. He has always been very passionate about the art of cooking and the intricacies of cuisines around the world. Chef Duan’s love for the culinary arts was a talent inherited and deeply influenced by his “mum” who was an exceptional cook. She made sure he was constantly involved with helping in the kitchen. Armed with this determination and passion, Chef Duan enrolled in a culinary arts program through Job Corps in Maryland. After completing the program in 2011, his life changed for the better. Chef Duan went on to open 7 restaurants, a food truck and his own private dining business, Chef Duan & Company LLC. In 2018, he had the pleasure of cooking in the James Beard House in New York City. Chef Duan is currently the Executive Chef of The Breakfast Club in Downtown Silver Spring. With a passion for maintaining traditional and multicultural flavors with a modern twist, Chef Duan has greatly thrived as an acclaimed chef in the DMV area and abroad.
